Welcome from the Secretary of the 27Regiment RA OCA

The OCA was formed after a reunion dinner held at The Royal Artillery Sergeants Mess Larkhill several years ago. Lt Gen Sir Edmund Burton KBE approached me after dinner and asked if I would be prepared to run the association. Never one to duck a challenge, I accepted and the rest as they say is history. The initial web site started about eight years ago and was produced painstakingly with the use of two fingers and a DIY guide. Things progressed nicely as my computer skills improved and we now have between 400-500 members and 5 very successful reunions under our belts with a sixth on track for June 2012. See reunions page for details.
The main stay of the web site has always been the guestbook and this will not change with the new site, however there will be lots of new things like profiles and our own mini face book. It never ceases to amaze me how ex colleagues pop up on the book after absences of 30 and 40 years. This is what the site is about, keeping in touch with like minded people, old and new friends alike. There are now facilities for you to update your own details, so no more out of date email addresses.(or at least it won’t be my fault if they are).
If you have any ideas for improvement or content of the site please let me know and if it is possible it will be considered.
Please keep on using the site and I hope you derive as much pleasure from it as I do. My final few words are those of thanks to Dave Abbott for bringing the site back into the modern world of technology, I do not have the expertise to do it and Dave’s hard work is very much appreciated.
Regards and best wishes to all who visit the site.
Terry St Pierre (Secretary 27 OCA)
